Sunday School

Our Sunday school youth are taught using many different teaching styles to accommodate individual learning styles. Not every child can learn by hearing a story. Some children learn by reading, some by seeing it, and some by acting it out. The "rotation model" Sunday school we use at First Lutheran addresses all of these learning styles.

The rotation model uses six rooms and each has its own purpose and atmosphere. These include a:

  • Craft room
  • Movie room
  • Drama room with stage
  • Story room
  • Kitchen / Lab
  • Computer room

Each week children (Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade) rotate by group to a different learning center for four to five weeks, learning the same lesson in many different ways. Past rotations have included: Jonah, Noah's Ark, Moses, Jesus Feeds the 5000, and Paul's Journey.
